Built with the EMCP Widget Builder and registered under the EMCP Custom category of the Elementor panel. Search the panel for: unfold, read more, expand, collapse, truncate, show more.

Setup guide

Open a page in Elementor, search the panel for Unfold and drag it into a container.
Content › Content: Content, Fold By, Visible Height, Visible Lines, Visible Words, Expand Label, Collapse Label, Icon and 8 more.
Pick a Fold By: Visible height, Number of lines, Number of words. Each one is shown below.
Style tab sections: Text, Button. Colours, typography and spacing set here are scoped to this widget instance.
Publish. Every option is a standard Elementor control, so it responds to the editor, dynamic tags and global styles as usual.

Conditional options: Visible Height appears when Fold By is height; Visible Lines appears when Fold By is lines; Visible Words appears when Fold By is words.

Ships with its own JavaScript; it runs once per instance and re-initialises inside the Elementor editor preview.

Fold By = height

Long-form content goes here. The first part stays visible and the rest folds away behind a Read more button, so long descriptions, terms, or specifications do not push the rest of the page down.

Add as many paragraphs as you like. When the reader expands the block the full text is shown in place, and the button turns into Read less.

This works for product descriptions, biographies, FAQs, legal copy and anything else that is useful but not essential on first view.
